Repairing the chicken coop:

The coop appears to be an addition to the existing barn, evident from the interior /exterior shingles. the roof and ceiling are in better condition than other sections.

Before, above, there’s a large gap allowing predators. using hardware cloth we closed off the gaps and created a blockade for the hay insulation, as you can see below. i puzzle pieced the wall with reclaimed wood and shingles we found while cleaning.

The wall closest to the chickens is now secure and below, you can see the coming work on the back side of the coop. seems like a horse area, but i think a white weasel has been living there. found a freshly dead pigeon in the clean out.

brought in fresh hay, unfortunately storebought. i still need to find a local farm source but this stuff is quality enough that if one of our animals eats it, they’ll be munching on something yummy.

packed in with with stones i’ll keep adding rocks as they emerge.

this all happened after a full sanitization of the coop space soooo part 2 complete!

now for nest boxes (already built) and installation of roosts, and shutters.

almost ready!
