This year, I finally learned how to band a buckling into a wether! Pro tip I learned from my goatherd friend, use the stuff they put on legs for waxing to numb the area getting squeezed, and avoid the nipples.
This little one up here is Sateen, and it pained me to band this beautiful buckling with those wattles but he was already such a prince he might have been hard to manage as a full grown buck.
Titan and I had one more buckling left to do, Dongles FKA as Taffetta. So we learned that with two people, flipping them upside down and use yr legs as a stanchion works quite well for restraint and precision.

And this personable hen had quite the turnaround from a pretty ugly case of cloacitis. no one else in the flock showed any signs but I think she may have been getting overmated by our roosters. we separated her out, gave some baby aspirin in water and limited baby food and she recovered! after we culled another three roosters and a guinea.
