The chicks went out to their new coop and pasture this past weekend!

They were more than ready the morning of.

Both of my sisters were in town and Kim and Pops helped with the move. Dee’s a bit afraid of the birds. we corralled 21 chickens into a dog crate, and took them to their new home!

they’re loving the outdoors, foraging and getting braver. they’ve got a thick 8 inches of bedding over the concrete floor, half of which came from the upstairs of the barn- clean birch shavings.

also, penguin is absolutely in love with the chickens.
