penguin had a rough night. first time getting quilled, my mouth hurt just looking at it. for dog lovers, if yr furry one gets into it with a porcupine (despite a fence) put a cone on their head and get them to a vet. i wish i’d finished vet tech training because the nearest emergency vet was an hour away.

he’s healing up well; a few quills pushed to the surface in the days after and he’s getting used to the chickens.
