entering week 4 and i am sooo tired but happy with the chicks. the doggos are grabbing a well deserved cuddle. 2 am wake ups to ensure they aren’t freezing can have that effect.

when i first built the brooder, i didn’t want to over design the structure. i was also working with warped wood. as a result, the front panel was wobbly. at the end of the third week it failed; luckily it didn’t crush any chicks.

the picture above shows 2x4s adding structural integrity and bonus - the heat holds better in that half of the brooder.
