Yurt Raise Part I
We finished the platform by the skin of our teeth.
Chopsaw, jigsaw, circular saw, chainsaw.
And then, a skirt, that needed to be stripped and treated for water resistance. Did that the night before. We finished all final platform details as Two Girls Farm & Yurt were unloading in the morning.
And then, MAGIC.
A portal appeared. Fantastical, but real.
we utilized some old school leverage tactics to be able to get the 500 pound lattice upright with three people and some wooden blocks. then 4 people to get the lattice onto the platform itself. really found myself lusting after a tractor during this part.
lattice up. rafters laid out. wire strung. thanks to the direction of Adrienne from Two Girls, we worked steadily as a team.
and then we build a ceiling/roof. mind blown honestly at this process and once you start, it makes sense.
and here’s the yurt with just its bones!
really cool to be in on a crisp sunny day.
stay tuned for the next post to show the final steps and a completed yurt!
