Ok so this is super exciting. Turns out these trees are bird cherry. And you can make bird cherry flour from the dried fruit! apparently a Russian cuisine, bird cherry cake is supposed to have a unique chocolaty flavor. Bonus- gluten free!


the one down side is that these are toxic to ruminants and like a 74 out of 100 on the invasive species scale according to alaska.edu farm extension. so they’ll want to come down in pasture areas before goats come, and be controlled for flour production purposes.
