Cup of Carver: George Washington Carver and the Biodynamic Movement | Biodynamic Association

had an affirming experience this grant season.

i’m applying for a variety of grants, as farmers do in winter and in searching for the right language to summarize what exactly it is that we do on the farm, from a systems perspective, came across “biodynamics”.

turns out George Washington Carver was on that tip from the git.

i’d never heard the term but i’ve been banging my head against a wall for 3 years trying to explain why we do what looks like “too much” on the farm and why it’s necessary for us to be diversified and to do it any other way is just…damaging.

i’ve been farming intuitively but also with my ancestors very clearly at my back, even if i didn’t have the language yet.
